Soap making began as a hobby that I quickly fell in love with during the depths of my second postpartum journey. Once I began transitioning from a hobby into a brand that I wanted to grow, I had to come up with a name. That was one of the hardest parts.
At first, I toyed with naming the brand after my children, but I was hesitant. As a mother, I dedicate so much of my life to them, and they have further inspired my choices to gravitate toward natural bath and body care throughout the years. Still, I felt I needed to create something that could grow and expand beyond that part of myself.
Brainstorming a name made me reflect on the essence of what I wanted my brand to stand for. I wrote down dozens of ideas and spent days researching synonyms of words that spoke to me. One concept that I kept coming back to was the combination of romance, nature, and everyday essentials. I wanted a name that was both beautiful and alluring, inviting people to discover the romance and intention behind every product we create.
From a young age, I have always been a hopeless romantic, and over the last fifteen years I have slowly gravitated toward a more natural and holistic lifestyle. I wanted those two parts of myself to exist together in the brand, and I wanted that feeling to resonate with my customers as well. I incorporate high-quality essential oils (organic whenever possible) and natural clay powders into many of my products, and I wanted that connection to nature to be clearly represented.
I also knew from the very beginning that I wanted to expand my product line beyond soap. I envisioned a bath and body care brand filled with things we adorn ourselves with and use every day- products that feel luxurious yet remain attainable.
That's when the name Enamored Essentials finally came together.
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, enamored is an adjective used to describe being affected by strong feelings of love, admiration, or fascination. That perfectly captured the feeling I wanted people to experience when using our products- essentials that they fall so deeply in love with, which inspires them to return for them again and again.
I wrote it down, sat with it, and continued to play with other combinations, but nothing else stuck. That's how I knew it was the one. It felt timeless, romantic, and spacious enough to grow alongside every dream I envisioned for the business. The approach I took to naming the brand is the same approach and intention I carry into naming and formulating every new product.
Once I had the brand name, it was time to create a logo. And that is where I found an opportunity to honor my children after all.
The pale yellow represents my daughter, Soleia, whose name means "sun." The green represents my son, Oliver, whose name means "olive tree." I initially envisioned a logo that merged a sun and a leaf, and perhaps one day I'll bring that idea to fruition. For now, I chose an olive leaf at the center of the logo, which I feel beautifully represents Enamored Essentials' nature-minded approach while simultaneously carrying a piece of my family with it.
Enamored Essentials' name and brand colors represent a deeper piece of my story. I take pleasure in wordplay and exploring synonyms, expanding both my heart and my vocabulary as I grow alongside the brand. My children remain at the heart of everything I do, but creating Enamored Essentials also gave me space to reconnect with the woman I was before becoming a mother- a hopeless romantic who still believes beauty can be found in the smallest everyday rituals. Now, those two parts of me exist together, woven into every product I create by hand in the hope that they become part of your everyday routines too.
